family reunion
Family reunion
The refugee family reunion policy allows family members to be reunited with an individual who has been granted refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK. This policy refers to pre-existing immediate family members who were part of the family unit before their refugee sponsor fled his/her country of origin or former habitual residence to claim asylum in the UK.
The Home Office may also allow family reunion for other family members if there are compassionate reasons why their case should be considered outside the Immigration Rules.
These applications can be made both outside and within the UK. If the application is successful, applicants will be granted refugee status in the UK for the same duration as their refugee sponsor.
These applications are complex and therefore legal representation is advised
